An interviewee from the Seychelles participating in the BILT scoping study said that agro-processing is a very important area of skills development focus in his country, because ‘we are tropical country, and the weather is good for number of divisions’. He mentioned the recent introduction of a diploma in sustainable agriculture as well as a new course on fish farming, since the ‘blue economy is also an area of green economy’. The Seychelles Institute of Technology was also described as offering programmes in rainwater harvesting and climate change, aimed at people who are self-employed ‘because they really need the skills’. The respondent said that there are developments taking place in IT and greening, but that ‘we need to accelerate in there’.
